Safe Mode is a special diagnostic mode in Windows that can help you troubleshoot different issues.
BEFORE YOU PROCEED:
We recommend that you print out this document or bookmark this page before proceeding because you will be asked to restart your computer during the procedure.
Click the Windows Start Menu button, then click Power.
On your keyboard, press and hold the SHIFT key, then click Restart.
Click Troubleshoot.
Click Advanced Options.
Click Windows Startup Settings.
Click Restart.
On your keyboard, Press the 4/F4 key to enable Safe Mode. To have Internet connection while on Safe Mode, press the 5/F5 key to Enable Safe Mode with Networking.
Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select the operating system that you are using then press ENTER.
Log in to Windows using an account with administrator privileges.
Click Yes when the “Windows is running in Safe Mode” message appears.
On your keyboard, press the Windows + I keys to open the Settings window.
Click Power.
On your keyboard, press and hold the SHIFT key, then click Restart.
Click Troubleshoot.
Click Advanced Options.
Click Windows Startup Settings.
Click Restart.
On your keyboard, Press the 4/F4 key to enable Safe Mode. To have Internet connection while on Safe Mode, press the 5/F5 key to Enable Safe Mode with Networking.

Log in to Windows using an account with administrator privileges.
Click Yes when the “Windows is running in Safe Mode” message appears.
On your keyboard, press the F8 key repeatedly while your computer is starting until the Advanced Boot Options screen appears.
On your keyboard, press the arrow down key. Select Safe Mode, then press ENTER. To have Internet connection while on Safe Mode, select Safe Mode with Networking.
When the Select the Operating System to start screen appears, select the operating system that you are using then press ENTER.
Log in to Windows using an account with administrator privileges.
Click Yes when a message appears saying “Windows is running in Safe Mode”. Your computer is now in Safe Mode.
